Ad of the Week: Anti-Smoking

Written by on

This week's theme comes with a public health warning attached to it. I thought I would do my civic duty and help spread the word that smoking is….baaaaadddd.

These are a brilliant group of ads and demonstrate that there are loads of ways to make us think about smoking without using all the clichés. I really like the breast feeding one (slightly not safe for work by the way), because it really delivers the dirty element that the ad is trying to convey and it does it so simply. The no smoking area is also really clever but my favourite by far is the ‘Smokers make poor swimmers’ advert. Not only is it funny but it also just hits a bloke right in the…well you know where it hits!

Let me know which is your favourite in the comments box. Hope you like them and have a great weekend!

Just love these! I am an avid anti-smoker, the breast-one is particularly poignant, as is the shot-gun one!!

Nice selection, I like the hospital bed and bottle of water. Made me think of this too :)

These are clever. The simple three words 'cancer cures smoking' says it all. Well found Lee.

I really like the 'guy' struggling to stand up out of the smoke and ash - excellent!

These are really good.......... can't wait to see what you come up with next week. These ads should be used more widely... might make peole stop and think more. I like the burial scene........

Can't help thinking this will impact non smokers more than smokers ...

Perhaps a cigarette shaped syringe labelled cyanide where the brand would be stamped, with a tar drop of fluid at the end of the needle hovering over a raised vein would work?
