Ad of the Week: Something Simple

Written by on

Today is Friday 8th October, which means Christmas is fast approaching and we'll soon need to start digging out our 'all time favourite festive ads'.

But, unlike most supermarkets, which are already rolling out their Christmas ranges, we'll keep those ads until a week or so before Christmas...and not 3 months before! (I couldn't believe it when I saw Christmas wrapping paper the other day!)

In the meantime, we'll stick with our interesting and creative themes.

To this week's ads...

Sayings like 'the simplest answer is the best answer' and 'less is more' get thrown around so much these days, and more often than not, they're very true. Today's ads epitomise those very sayings, and all deliver their messages quickly and effectively.

My favourite has to be the Hut Weber advert, which demonstrates how something as simple as a hat can make all the difference! It's brilliant...much like my second favourite ad, for Lego.

As always, let us know your favourite adverts and thoughts by posting in the comments box below. Have a great weekend...should I be starting my Christmas shopping yet?!

Lego wins, because Lego rules! But they're all really effective. Love the piano key cutlery too. Just goes to show that having the bottle to be minimal can really work. Simples! :)

I like the Lego one, it's very subtle and clever, as is the hat one - Hitler instantly becomes Laurel/Hardy!! And as the title of this weeks ads goes, the Sensodyne toothbrush made of feathers is 'simple, but effective' - now, did you say 'toooothbrush' when you read that or 'tuthbrush' ??????????

Lee, how dare you bring Xmas into October!

Like the hat ad, very Rene Magritte, but the Evian is probably the one for me.

Nice ads, but i don't get the lego advert, for me a picture of an incredible object built out of lego with the word imagine at the bottom, would inspire me to see what i could create!

I'd enjoy meetings if I had a table like this...

The live young is weird, not sure about that.

I like the first one, it's amazing how one subtle change can make a difference.

Well the Hats seem to be winning, but only by a small margin with Evian making a strong running. How many of you would wear the Evian T-Shirt if you had one?

Lego one for me, have fond memories of my brother constantly dropping his draw full of lego down the stairs!

Don't like the Evian one I'm afraid, freaky!

In order of preference; It's the Hat, Music & Gastronomy, and due too many overwhelming childhood memories the Lego ad, It should be at the top but I'm trying to be objective.
The live young one I find disturbing but not as disturbing as the Spoon ad.

All very good this week, difficult to choose from. Would have to say Hats is my favourite as well but also liking the toothbrush feathers as well.

Any chance of being able to click through to bigger pictures at some point so we can see the genius of ads in their full glory?
